Description

It was 1912, when the first tram line in this Finnish, Swedish and Russian-speaking city
was opened to general traffic. By the end of the year, three lines were ready. The trams had to
to face the same dramatic events as the whole of Finland during the civil war, the winter war and the continuation war
and finally when the conquerors annexed Vyborg and Karelia to the Soviet Union. Per Rickheden has iced Vyborg
historical information and pictures of tramways for more than 50 years. Description of post-World War II history
until its abolition in 1957 is based on information that was previously inaccessible to foreign researchers.

Rich and unique illustration.
