Pictures from behind the old border tells with pictures and words about the events and backgrounds of the period when Finland had conquered the country from the Soviet Union during the Continuation War. Even though that region of Eastern Karelia never officially belonged to Finland, the Finnishization of Petroskoi, among other things, started at full speed, down to the name of the city.

Despite the fact that the dreams of a Greater Finland faded from the opinion of even the most enthusiastic supporters of the idea at the end of the war, this phase in our country's history is still an emotional period today. The book's rich illustrations are unique shots of the TK photographers who were in the area at the time of the environment that our soldiers encountered in Bolshevik-controlled Eastern Karelia.
