Description

The most famous product of Tunturi is the legendary Pappa-Tunturi. The first Tunturi with a sheet metal frame, the PL 38 model, was completed in 1959 and the last, the Classic model, in 1987. The book discusses Tunturi's moped production by model year through the ages, its history and the restoration of the Tunturi. For enthusiasts, number information is included to support the timing, restoration and restoration of your own veteran moped.

Tunturi's strong position in the Finnish market was partly based on a successful choice of engine. The Austrian fan-cooled Puch proved to be reliable. In the early years, the moped was mainly the everyday driver of the adult population, for example on work trips, and the first motor vehicle in many households. In the future, the moped became more and more a recreational driving game for the youth. More than 400,000 Tunturi mopeds were sold in total. Tunturi moped production ended with the Tiger model in 1996.
