Yankee fire trucks in Helsinki

The golden age of fire trucks with American chassis lasted in Helsinki from the 1960s to the 1980s.
At the time, the Helsinki rescue service alone had eight Fargo D500 fire trucks acquired in the 1960s and one pioneer truck. The contract fire brigades in Helsinki also acquire Yankee-based cars. The most common were Fargo, Ford and DeSoto fire engines. The work also presents unique mechanical and lift trucks and, of course, several Fargo and Plymouth ambulances.
The first Yankee fire truck was the fire chief's Overland of 1915. The three 2001 Chevrolet Tahoe lead cars were the last ones left.
