Saab became part of the Finnish landscape and mental landscape. The book describes Saab's story from the 1930s to the present day, the perspective is on the alliance between Saab and Finland and Saab's role as a tool of state power. The great importance of the Uusikaupunki car factory is emphasized in Saab's Finnish story. The book sheds light on the importance of Saab in Finnish employment and industrial policy. The author of the book is Mika Koskinen, while Juha Pietikäinen has written the chapter describing Finnish Saab builders. Towards the end of the book, a few saabists share their own stories. Saab still has its national stamp in the minds of Finns. For more than three decades, Saab managed to profile itself as a very Finnish car. Although there are only memories left of Saabs, they are meaningful to many Finns.
