Classic Ships

Thousands of years before any of our modern methods of transport were invented man travelled by boat on the water. Later on men travelling by ship
proved that the world was round, discovering new lands and new continents.
By the nineteenth and twentieth century vast numbers of people used ships to emigrate to new lives in far away lands; ships soon became floating
palaces, representing the ultimate in sophistication.
Classic Ships chronicles our nautical heritage for the last one hundred or so years and features everything from tall ships to small ships, working boats
and lifeboats. Most of all it's a salute to the liners that sailed the world's oceans carrying people to distant shores - port out, starboard home.
